Our Policy For Nurse Practitioner ServicesCharges for services vary. Payment is expected at the time of service. We accept cash, checks or credit cards (there is a small fee for using a credit card). We bill Medicaid and WINhealth insurance. We will provide you with a 1500 Form which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company prior to your appointment to discuss what type of reimbursement you can expect. Our FNP cannot treat individuals who are on Medicare. We take walk-in appointments, but we strongly encourage you make an appointment: 322-2540. Walk-ins will be seen as the schedule allows. Our FNP does not see anyone for chronic diseases/conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, women who are pregnant, or sick infants less than 3 months of age. For these services, you need to see your primary healthcare provider or medical specialist. IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED EMERGENCY MEDICAL ATTENTION, YOU NEED TO CALL 9-1-1 OR GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM.
What Is A Nurse Practitioner?Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are independently licensed practitioners who provide healthcare in a variety of clinical settings. They provide advanced nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups. In addition to diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illness, NPs emphasize health promotion and disease prevention. Services include, but are not limited to ordering, conducting, supervising and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescription of pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies. Teaching and counseling individuals, families and groups are a major part of the NP's practice. NPs possess either master's or doctoral degrees. Didactic and clinical courses prepare NPs with specialized knowledge and clinical competency to practice in a a variety of care settings, including family health, women's health, as well as acute and long term care.
